Private tutor in Columbia, MD
Education
Hi! My name is Michelle and I am glad you've found my profile. Just so you know what to expect of me, I graduated from UMBC in Spring 2015 with a Bachelor of Arts in Modern Languages, Linguistics, and Intercultural Communication with a French concentration. I also have an Associate of Arts in Teaching degree in Elementary Education from Howard Community College in Columbia, Maryland. Finally, I plan to pursue Master's degrees in both French and Secondary Education in the coming years and look forward to working with your students in the coming years as well! Thanks for taking the time to read my information!
Experience
Now that you've seen my basic summary, I will list my qualifications as follows and explain what inspired me to become a tutor. First, my qualifications are as follows: I had some tutoring experience as part of my French studies and became a student tutor to fellow French-language students at UMBC. During that time, I enjoyed the work and obtained a lifetime certification from the College Reading and Learning Association as a Certified Tutor at Level I. Level II Certification is pending as well, to the best of my knowledge, as I worked to obtain that certification after the completion of my Level I work. Above all, I wanted to and still want to be a tutor because I love taking on the task of mentorship and seeing students succeed academically and grow as students and as people overall. I also believe in the potential of every student to succeed academically and to exceed his or her own expectations as well as those of his or her family, friends, and educators. Finally, there is little more rewarding than to make a positive impact on the lives of those around me and I believe tutoring is one way to do that. Thanks again for reading my profile and I hope to hear from you soon!
