Experience
I graduated from the University of Pittsburgh summa cum laude with a bachelor's degree in psychology. I then went on to complete a Master of Arts in Teaching degree from Towson University. I have taught English for 10 years and have done both personal and professional tutoring for more than seven years. While I can help students with reading, writing, grammar, or anything else related to English, I truly enjoy preparing them for college entrance tests such as the PSAT and SAT.I have spent so many years being a student and trying different studying techniques for myself, so I understand how students think and feel about studying and taking tests. I know that all students have their own way of learning, and I work towards discovering that so they can use their study time more efficiently. I like to put my students at ease, and I try to make them feel comfortable instead of stressed. I also try to turn each mistake into a positive learning experience, and I like to use humor when appropriate. When I am not teaching, I am often working on a future novel in my mind while walking around Druid Hill Park. I also enjoy being snuggled up with my 2 dogs, reading a book.
