Perhaps the reason I connect so well with my students is, in many ways, that I have maintained my childlike enthusiasm for learning and the world around me. I feel the excitement building when I begin to read or watch something new. In fact, I get that same thrill even if I've read it a dozen times. I've worked with students of all ages and in all grade levels. I've worked with students in schools as well as in summer camp environments. I believe it is my extensive individual work with these students that allows me to successfully connect with new students. I definitely am one of those people who tend to think outside the box, and I encourage my students to do the same with concepts they have been struggling with. I know everyone learns differently and it is my job to discover what will work for my student. Some of the courses I tutor include essay writing and editing, grammar and mechanics, literature, reading, writing, American history, European history, government, world history, elementary math, middle school math, social studies, and English. In addition to these subjects I also help students improve their study skills and organizational habits and prepare for standardized tests such as the SAT.
