I am a tutor dedicated to providing a fun learning environment. A tutoring session should always involve smiles and laughter. And learning. My passion is in helping students learn to enjoy learning, and then to helping them learn. I earned my bachelor's degree in Theatre Arts and Studio Arts from Gettysburg College, and my master's in Early Childhood Education at Towson University. I have experience as a teacher in the public schools, working with students from many different backgrounds. I believe in taking a creative approach to teaching, which includes providing many materials and experiences that cater to each student's particular learning strengths. The style each student most successfully learns in is something I respect and work with to positive effects. I've generally taught younger students, and can tutor in all elementary school subjects, but I am also available to tutor older students in English, literature, and other subjects. Literature and reading are closest to my heart, and I find satisfaction in bringing students the vast, exciting world they can unlock through reading. In addition to teaching, I enjoy crocheting, sewing, beading, and gardening.
