Experience

I'm a tutor who is currently based in Washington, DC, where I enjoy viewing art, playing trivia, and running when I'm not in the classroom working with students. As a tutor, I'm able to work with students in a variety of subjects. I have my bachelor's degree in art history. Some of the lessons I've done in the past have been in French, reading, writing, and essay editing, amongst other things. During undergrad I worked as an essay-exam grader. This really sparked my passion for helping others, and I'm eager to continue helping students now that I've graduated. I know exactly what teachers and professors are looking for in papers, because of my experience as a grader. I hope that I can use that knowledge to help my students really develop their writing skills. As a tutor, I employ a collaborative approach where I meet with my students to determine their specific needs. Once I've identified where my students can improve, I then work on addressing those problem areas through targeted practice exercises. My hope is that all of my students will learn the skills they need to become self-sustaining learners throughout the rest of their lives.
